How to read this chart

Each row is one NovaStar receiving card we stock. The chart answers three questions before you order a spare: which card is the like-for-like swap for the model on your cabinet label, which lookalike models are not safe to substitute, and what to verify on the cabinet before the order goes in.

  • Like-for-like — the same model is the documented spare. Match the full label, including suffixes such as -1/-2/-N.
  • Not a direct swap — models that look similar or share a family name but have a documented difference in connector, capacity condition or cabinet path. Open Before you order on the row for the reason.
  • Conditional — a cross-model change that is only valid after the cabinet maker has approved a tested conversion; the condition is spelled out in the row.

  • A10s Pro (1G A-series) — different receiver and cabinet architecture; not the XA50 Pro's physical 5G/DDR3 substitute
  • CA50E — also 5G COEX, but its cabinet interface and capacity profile are different; use the exact receiver named by the cabinet design

What does “like-for-like” mean in this chart?

It means the documented spare is the same model as the card already in the cabinet, matched on the full label including suffixes. A like-for-like swap keeps the hub board, ribbons and saved cabinet configuration unchanged, so the cabinet behaves exactly as before.

Why is a card in the same family listed as “not a direct swap”?

Family names group cards by generation, not by interchangeability. Two cards can share a prefix and still differ in connector gender or direction, hub interface, driver-IC capacity conditions or supported cabinet files. The row’s checks explain the specific documented difference for each pairing.

What should I save from the old wall before replacing a card?

Read back and save the receiving-card program and configuration in NovaLCT, keep the cabinet map with module and wiring notes, and export calibration data where the wall uses it. Each row lists the exact items for that model under Before you order.
