What this viewer reads
An .rcfgx package holds an XML description of one cabinet type plus a binary register file. The viewer opens the package in your browser, reads the XML, and lays out the fields that matter when you are matching or replacing hardware: the receiving-card model the file was saved for, the driver IC, scan and row decoding, module geometry, gray depth and gamma, RGB gains, and whether calibration is enabled and where its coefficients live.
Fields a file does not carry are labeled as not stored — the viewer does not fill gaps with guesses. The binary register half of the package is not decoded here; it is meant for the card, not for people. Background on the format is in our RCFGX file guide.
Why nothing is uploaded
A configuration file describes your hardware, and it is yours. This page does its work with in-browser parsing only: no upload, no account, no server-side copy. If you want a second pair of eyes on a file, that is a decision you make by sending it to us — not a default.

Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is parsed by JavaScript running in your own browser tab. It is never sent to our server or anyone else’s, and closing the page removes everything.
What is an RCFGX file?
A NovaStar receiving-card configuration saved from NovaLCT — a ZIP package holding an XML description of the cabinet plus a binary register file. Our RCFGX guide covers it in full.
What does the viewer read?
The XML side of the package: card model, driver IC, scan and decoding, module geometry, gray depth, gamma, RGB gains and calibration state. Fields a particular file does not carry are shown as “not stored” rather than guessed.
Can it open legacy .rcfg files?
Not yet. The older .rcfg format is a raw binary without the XML layer. If you have one, send it over — we will read it manually.
Can I edit the file here?
No — this is a read-only viewer. Editing a receiving-card configuration belongs in NovaLCT, with the module maker’s parameters. A wrong edit shows up as ghosting, color blocks or flicker on the wall.
Which browsers work?
Any current Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. The built-in decompression this tool uses needs Chrome/Edge 80+, Safari 16.4+ or Firefox 113+.
