What is the NovaStar MX_1xST2110 (100G) Input Card for?

This card brings an SMPTE ST 2110 source route into one IN slot of NovaStar MX2000 Pro or MX6000 Pro. It is an IP source-ingest card, not an LED-output card; output cards, receiving cards and the screen topology remain separate system decisions.

How the 100G input card handles 1×8K60 or 4×4K60 source modes

One primary plus one backup is one protected source route, not two unrelated program sources. Before configuring the stream in VMP, select the 1×8K UHD or 4×4K UHD interface mode.

The documented maximum is 1 × 8192 × 4320@60 Hz or 4 × 4096 × 2160@60 Hz. SMPTE ST 2110 (-10, -20), SMPTE 2059 (-1, -2) and SMPTE 2022-7 backup are documented.

MX_1xST2110 (100G) Input Card with VMP, PTP, NMOS and multicast

VMP supports SDP import, direct entry, SDP export and source-resolution control. The card documents NMOS IS-04/IS-05/IS-09, IEEE 1588-2008 PTP when locked, IPv4, IGMP and rs-fec/no-fec; FEC requires the switch to be configured.

MX_1xST2110 (100G) Input Card optics and fiber: plan QSFP28 and duplex LC

The card does not include a transceiver. Plan QSFP28 modules compliant with 100GBASE-LR4/SR4/CWDM4, switch compatibility and OS1/OS2 single-mode duplex LC fiber.

MX_1xST2110 (100G) Input Card host slot and VMP project matching

MX2000 Pro has two input-card slots and MX6000 Pro has eight. For a card-based VMP project, the target card number, slot, model and firmware version must match the saved project. This card uses one input slot.

When to choose MX_1xST2110 (100G) Input Card instead of 25G

Choose 100G for the documented 1×8K60 or 4×4K60 channel modes. Choose single 25G for one protected 4K/ultrawide path, or dual 25G for two protected source paths.

NovaStar MX_1xST2110 (100G) Input Card Manual, PDF and VMP Software

Use the model-named download page as the starting point, then verify the shared MX6000 Pro specification, the matching MX host manual and the VMP project version. 100G ST 2110 commissioning also depends on QSFP28 optics, the IP fabric, PTP and source network planning.

MX_1xST2110 (100G) Input Card buying and commissioning FAQs

Is the backup interface a second independent 100G program input?

No. The card documents one primary and one backup interface for a protected source path under SMPTE 2022-7.

Can the card receive more than one video source?

Yes, in the documented 4×4K60 channel mode. Select that mode in VMP; otherwise use 1×8K60 for one large source.

Are QSFP28 optics included?

No. Specify compatible 100G optics and the switch/fiber path separately before ordering.

Does the card remove the need for PTP or switch configuration?

No. PTP, NMOS, multicast, IP addressing and any FEC configuration remain part of the broadcast-network design.

MX_1xST2110 (100G) Input Card order check

Before ordering, confirm that the MX host has a compatible IN slot, that the design needs the documented 1×8K60 or 4×4K60 mode, and that the network team has approved QSFP28 optics, PTP, NMOS, multicast and FEC settings.

  • Select 1×8K60 or 4×4K60 channel mode
  • Document primary/backup stream endpoints
  • Confirm PTP, NMOS, IPv4, IGMP and FEC settings
  • Specify QSFP28 optics and duplex LC fiber
  • Confirm the MX slot and VMP/host/card versions

Share your MX host, 8K or 4K channel requirement, primary/backup topology, switch model and fiber route. We can check the 100G ST 2110 path before you order.
