The BrightSign HD1025 is the expanded-I/O HD5 player for 4K digital signage and kiosk-style installations. It keeps the HD5 playback base of HDMI output, gigabit Ethernet, GPIO, IR and local microSD playback, then adds USB-A and a 3.5mm serial port for touchscreens, peripherals and installed AV control.

Can the BrightSign HD1025 be used with an LED wall?
Yes, but its role is specific: the BrightSign HD1025 is the signage player that supplies the content signal. It stores and plays scheduled media, so a lobby screen, menu board or informational LED display does not need a computer left on-site just to keep content running.
For an LED wall, the BrightSign player’s HDMI output still needs to go into hardware that accepts and processes that signal. The NovaStar control system handles the LED-display work: a video processor or all-in-one controller accepts and scales the HDMI source, sending hardware outputs LED data, and receiving cards map that data to the LED modules. BrightSign handles the playlist, publishing method and playback reliability.
Stay with HD225 if GPIO is the only local trigger needed. Move to XD1035 when the installation needs PoE+, USB-C or more responsive multi-touch WebGL.

Yes, when the touchscreen and BrightSign presentation are built for supported USB touch interaction. HD1025 is the HD5 model to consider when the signage screen needs user input without moving to an XD or XT player.
What is the serial port on HD1025 used for?
The serial port is useful when the player needs to send or receive control commands with a compatible display, switcher, control processor or AV device. If the installation only needs HDMI playback and GPIO buttons, HD225 may be enough.
Does HD1025 support PoE+?
No. HD1025 uses the HD5 expanded-I/O package, but PoE+ belongs to the XD and XT tiers. If one-cable network power is important, compare XD235 or XD1035 instead.
Can HD1025 keep content running without a network connection?
