What is the NovaStar MX_4 DP1.2 Input Card for?
Choose this card when a workstation, graphics engine or media server provides four separate DisplayPort source paths to an available IN slot of NovaStar MX2000 Pro or MX6000 Pro. The signal path is source → input card → MX chassis → output card, receiving cards and LED wall.
It is an input card, not a controller or LED-output expansion: four DP connectors do not create four LED outputs, increase wall pixel capacity or make an unsupported receiving card compatible.
NovaStar MX_4 DP1.2 Input Card specifications: four DP inputs and 4K60
Each of the four DP 1.2 inputs is documented for 4096 × 2160@60 Hz or forced 8192 × 1080@60 Hz. EDID/custom resolution management and HDCP 2.3 backward compatibility are documented, while interlaced input is not supported.
This is the high-density four-source 4K60 choice, not a single 8K60 input card. The current MX6000 V1.5.0 table does not list HDR10/HLG, and NovaStar documents DP cable support up to 5 m.
Can MX_4 DP1.2 fit your MX2000 Pro or MX6000 Pro source plan?
Yes, when an IN slot is available and the host, input-card model, slot number and firmware match the VMP project. MX2000 Pro has two input-card slots and MX6000 Pro has eight; this four-input card still consumes only one slot, but it does not bypass the host’s output-card or screen-map limits.
How four DP sources reach the LED wall through an MX chassis
Four computer, graphics-engine or media-server feeds can stay separate at the input stage for VMP layer assignment before they continue through the MX chassis to the output-card and receiving-card path. Check each source’s EDID response, forced mode and 5 m cable route.
The input card consolidates source ingest; it does not decide LED-side capacity. Do not sell an HDR workflow from this card alone because the current MX6000 V1.5.0 input-card table does not list HDR10/HLG.
MX_4 DP1.2 vs MX_2xDP1.4 and the single 8K60 DP card
Choose MX_4 DP1.2 for four DP 4K60-class feeds. Choose MX_2xDP1.4 for two DP 8K30-class sources, or MX_1xDP 1.4 8K60 for one DP source at 8K60. The choice is source density versus per-source resolution and refresh, not LED output count.

No. They are four source inputs on one card. Downstream LED outputs are a separate MX host/output-card decision.
When should I choose dual DP 1.4?
Choose it when two DP sources need 8K30-class modes. Choose this model when four 4K60-class DP sources are the real requirement.
