What is the NovaStar MX_1xST2110 (25G) Input Card for?

Choose this card when the facility already distributes one protected SMPTE ST 2110 program path over a 25G IP fabric. It brings the primary and backup routes into one IN slot of NovaStar MX2000 Pro or MX6000 Pro, then continues through the MX output-card and LED-wall path.

The backup interface is not a second unrelated video source, and this input card does not add LED outputs or change the host’s wall capacity.

NovaStar MX_1xST2110 (25G) specifications: one protected 4K60 source path

This card represents one protected 25G source path, not two independent program sources. The documented maximum is 4096 × 2160@60 Hz or 8192 × 1080@60 Hz. SMPTE ST 2110 (-10, -20), SMPTE 2059 (-1, -2) and SMPTE 2022-7 backup are documented.

Plan the source as primary A plus backup A through the IP fabric. If the project needs two separate protected source paths, this is the wrong source density; use the dual-25G card instead.

Configure the MX_1xST2110 (25G) source in VMP and the IP fabric

VMP supports SDP import, direct entry, SDP export and source-resolution control. The card documents NMOS IS-04/IS-05/IS-09, IEEE 1588-2008 PTP when locked, IPv4, IGMP and rs-fec/no-fec; FEC requires the switch to be configured.

Before commissioning, the network team must agree the multicast, PTP, NMOS and FEC behavior with the source system. A familiar ST 2110 label is not enough to make a stream visible to the MX project.

MX_1xST2110 (25G) optics and single-mode fiber planning

The card does not include a transceiver. Select SFP28 modules compatible with 25GBASE-LR/SR/CR, match them to the switch and plan OS1/OS2 single-mode duplex LC fiber for both primary and backup endpoints.

Can MX_1xST2110 (25G) fit your MX2000 Pro or MX6000 Pro source plan?

Yes, when an IN slot is available and the host, input-card model, slot number and firmware match the VMP project. MX2000 Pro has two input-card slots and MX6000 Pro has eight; this card uses one slot while the primary/backup topology remains a network-side planning task.

MX_1xST2110 (25G) vs dual 25G and 100G ST 2110 input cards

Choose MX_1xST2110 (25G) for one protected source path at the documented 4K60 or ultrawide limit. Choose dual 25G for two protected source paths, or 100G for the documented one 8K60 or four 4K60 channel modes.

MX_1xST2110 (25G) Input Card buying and commissioning FAQs

Is the backup port another independent video source?

No. It is the documented backup for the primary ST 2110 route under SMPTE 2022-7.

Does the card include SFP28 optics?

No. Select compatible 25G optics and the switch/fiber path separately.

Can I configure the stream in VMP?

Yes. VMP supports SDP import/direct entry/export and source-resolution management for the ST 2110 card.

When should I move to 100G?

Move to 100G when the documented channel requirement is one 8K60 source or four 4K60 sources.

MX_1xST2110 (25G) Input Card order check

Before requesting a quote, confirm the protected source topology, PTP/NMOS method, optical modules, fiber route and MX host slot that will carry the ST 2110 feed:

  • Confirm the 4K60 or 8192 × 1080 source requirement
  • Document primary/backup endpoints and PTP/NMOS method
  • Confirm IGMP, IP and FEC plan
  • Specify SFP28 optics and duplex LC fiber
  • Confirm MX slot and VMP/host/card versions

Send us the source resolution, primary/backup topology, switch and PTP/NMOS details, optic/fiber plan, host model and receiving-card or screen plan through our contact page. We can then confirm the correct ST 2110 input path before you order.
