What is the NovaStar TB10 Plus?
The NovaStar TB10 Plus is the entry-level boxed player in the Taurus range: a finished 465.6 g unit that stores your content, plays it on a schedule and drives up to 650,000 pixels of LED screen from one Gigabit output. It is the least expensive complete player NovaStar makes.
Buy one for the screens that make up most of your work rather than most of the trade press. Your shop window, your chain of drive-through boards, a lobby ticker, a set of estate-agent displays: small screens, prepared content, and a quantity that makes every dollar per unit matter.
It arrives ready to fit. Mounting brackets, screws and a power adapter are in the carton, so you order nothing else before it goes on a wall.

Everything needed to hang it is in the carton
Two brackets, four M3 countersunk screws and a power adapter ship with your player, which is unusual in this range. The larger models leave you to find your own mounting and, on the twelve-volt units, your own supply.
Check one thing about the surface you are fixing to: NovaStar asks that it carry at least 1.9 kg, and that the screws go in at 3 N·m.
Your shop staff can change the content with a USB drive
The player can be set to play from a USB stick without anyone entering a password, which turns content changes into a job you can hand to whoever is already on site. No account, no laptop, no visit from you.
Three limits apply to the drive: FAT32 or NTFS, a capacity between 2 GB and 128 GB, and no single file reaching 4 GB.
Two cables and it is working
One Gigabit lead goes to your screen and one Ethernet lead goes to your network, and that is the whole installation. Where you have no network, the player raises its own wireless hotspot and the ViPlex Handy app takes over from your phone.
The hotspot name is the model plus the last eight digits of the serial number, with the password printed on the label.

Which screens are too big for a TB10 Plus?
Your screen is too big for this player once it passes 650,000 pixels, or once either side of it passes 2048. Both limits bite, and the side limit usually bites first on wide screens.
Some worked cases. A 1024×512 window banner is 524,288 pixels and fits. A 960×640 menu board is 614,400 and just fits. A 1920×600 shopfront strip is 1,152,000 and does not, even though it is only 600 pixels tall.
Long thin screens are the exception written into the specification: up to 8192 pixels wide by 2048 high, still inside the 650,000 total. That covers a genuine ticker, where lit pixels are few and the run is long.
Past those lines, the TB30 doubles the total to 1,300,000, takes each side to 4096 and gives you a second output. It runs on mains rather than a low-voltage adapter, so budget for a socket at the mounting position as well as for the player.
Mounting it and powering it
Fix the brackets to a surface rated for at least 1.9 kg and drive the four screws to 3 N·m. That figure is generous against the player’s own 465.6 g, and it covers the weight of your cables hanging off it.
Power comes from the supplied adapter rather than a mains lead into the box, so the player itself takes low voltage. Two things follow for you: you can run it from a rail already inside your cabinet instead of the adapter, and the adapter needs somewhere to live if you do use it.
The rating is IP20, which means this unit belongs indoors or inside the screen’s own housing. Keep the air around it between −20°C and +60°C at up to 85% humidity, with nothing condensing on it.
Add a light sensor if the screen faces a window or sits outside behind glass. The player supports one, and a screen at fixed brightness is either unreadable at noon or blinding after dark.
TB10 Plus or TB20 Plus — one socket apart
These two give you the same chassis, processor, pixel ceiling and carton of accessories. One socket separates them, and it is worth exactly what a live source is worth to your project.

Order the TB10 Plus if the screen shows prepared content only. You save $50 per screen, and on a rollout of forty that is a real line on the quote.
Order the TB20 Plus if anything live has to reach the screen, or if you want a front-panel button an operator can press. Note the trade: NovaStar lists sensor support against this model and not against that one, so a screen needing both automatic brightness and a live input is better served by the TB30.

Set your player up with ViPlex Express on a Windows PC, or from a phone with ViPlex Handy over its own hotspot. Both build the same thing: a cabinet map, a playlist and a schedule that then live on the player.
Keep that cabinet map. Replacing a player is a five-minute job with it and an afternoon without it, which matters more when your screens are small and your fleet is large.

How big a screen will one TB10 Plus drive?
Up to 650,000 lit pixels, and no more than 2048 on either edge. Tickers are treated separately: those may reach 8192 pixels of width, provided the lit total still lands under 650,000.
Does a power supply come with it?
Yes. The carton holds a power adapter, an antenna, two mounting brackets and four screws, so nothing else is needed to put it on a wall.
Can it take a live HDMI source?
No. It plays only stored content. The TB20 Plus is the same chassis with an HDMI input added, accepting up to 2048×1024 at 60 Hz.
Can shop staff change the content without an account?
Yes. Turn on simple USB playback and a drive in the front socket plays without a password. Format it FAT32 or NTFS, keep it between 2 GB and 128 GB, and keep every file under 4 GB.
Does it need a sending card?
No. Playback and screen driving are in the same box, so the Gigabit output goes straight to the receiving cards in your cabinets.
Can I add a light sensor?
Yes. NovaStar lists support for a light sensor or a temperature and humidity sensor on this model, through the connector on the front panel.
What surface can I mount it on?
Anything rated to carry at least 1.9 kg, with the four M3 screws driven to 3 N·m. The player itself is 465.6 g; the margin covers the cables.
Will it keep playing without an internet connection?
Yes. The playlist is stored on the player, so it keeps running with nothing connected. You lose remote publishing and monitoring, not playback.
What warranty covers a TB10 Plus?
