What is NovaStar H_4x HDMI output card?

The NovaStar™ H Series 4x HDMI Output Card is a display-output card for a compatible H Series chassis. It works by taking the finished layout from the chassis and carrying it to HDMI displays, projectors, recorders or confidence monitors. • Keep four display destinations available when the format fits: single-link mode makes all four HDMI connectors usable. It suits a setup with four scheduled confidence displays, operator monitors, projectors or recorders that stay within the documented per-output limit.
• Put two higher-resolution displays first when that matters more: dual-link mode makes HDMI 2 and HDMI 4 the primary paths for up to 4096 × 2160@30 or 3840 × 1080@60. HDMI 1 copies 2, and HDMI 3 copies 4, so the pairings are useful only when duplicated pictures have a real destination.
• Support a planned portrait display: the card supports 90-degree output rotation. That makes it relevant to a vertical endpoint, but rotation changes several system behaviors, so it should be selected with the screen design—not added as a last-minute adjustment.
• Work with professional HDMI signal formats: NovaStar specifies listed 8-bit and 10-bit RGB/YCbCr output formats, 144 Hz output and image mirroring. Confirm the actual display, recorder or projector accepts the selected timing and format.

The mode should follow the display schedule. Single link keeps four outputs separate within its resolution limit. Dual link prioritizes resolution on two primary paths, with the remaining two connectors used as copies—not as extra independent screens.

What portrait output changes on NovaStar H_4x HDMI output card?

Rotation is useful when a vertical monitor or portrait display is part of the finished experience, but it changes more than orientation. In rotation mode, dual-link output cannot be used; the layer quantity is halved to up to eight SL layers; and the loaded screen does not support image OSD or the fade transition effect.

There is also a card-revision planning rule: NovaStar says a rotation-capable card cannot be used with other card types to load one screen. Even cards of the same type must not mix rotation-capable and non-rotation versions on that screen. Confirm the installed card revision before making a portrait endpoint central to the system design.
