What is the NovaStar MX_2xST2110 (25G) Input Card for?

This card brings an SMPTE ST 2110 source route into one IN slot of NovaStar MX2000 Pro or MX6000 Pro. It is an IP source-ingest card, not an LED-output card; output cards, receiving cards and the screen topology remain separate system decisions.

How two protected 25G source paths map to primary and backup ports

The topology is Source A primary/backup plus Source B primary/backup. Four optical interfaces do not mean four unrelated primary program sources.

The documented maximum is 4096 × 2160@60 Hz or 8192 × 1080@60 Hz per documented source path. SMPTE ST 2110 (-10, -20), SMPTE 2059 (-1, -2) and SMPTE 2022-7 backup are documented.

MX_2xST2110 (25G) Input Card with VMP, PTP, NMOS and multicast

VMP supports SDP import, direct entry, SDP export and source-resolution control. The card documents NMOS IS-04/IS-05/IS-09, IEEE 1588-2008 PTP when locked, IPv4, IGMP and rs-fec/no-fec; FEC requires switch configuration.

MX_2xST2110 (25G) Input Card optics and fiber: plan four SFP28 endpoints

SFP28 transceivers are not included. Plan 25G optics, switch compatibility and OS1/OS2 single-mode duplex LC fiber for all four endpoints.

MX_2xST2110 (25G) Input Card host slot and VMP project matching

MX2000 Pro has two input-card slots and MX6000 Pro has eight. For a card-based VMP project, the target card number, slot, model and firmware version must match the saved project. This card uses one input slot.

When to choose MX_2xST2110 (25G) Input Card instead of 100G or single 25G

Choose this model for two protected 25G paths. Choose single 25G for one protected source, or 100G for the documented 1×8K60 or 4×4K60 modes.

NovaStar MX_2xST2110 (25G) Input Card Manual, PDF and VMP Software

Use the model-named download page as the starting point, then verify the shared MX6000 Pro specification, the matching MX host manual and the VMP project version. ST 2110 commissioning also depends on the IP fabric, PTP and source network plan.

MX_2xST2110 (25G) Input Card buying and commissioning FAQs

Do four fiber interfaces mean four primary video sources?

No. The documented topology is two primary paths and two backups: one protection pair for each of two sources.

Are the SFP28 optics included?

No. Select compatible 25G optics and plan all four endpoints separately.

Can I set up both streams in VMP?

Yes. Use VMP’s SDP/direct-entry controls and coordinate the source/network settings with the IP team.

When is 100G the better choice?

Choose 100G for the documented 1×8K60 or 4×4K60 modes. Choose this card when the requirement is two separately protected 25G paths.

MX_2xST2110 (25G) Input Card order check

Before ordering, confirm that the MX host has a compatible IN slot, that the design needs two protected 25G source paths, and that the network team has approved the four SFP28 routes, PTP, NMOS, multicast and FEC plan.

  • Document Source A and B primary/backup routes
  • Confirm per-source resolution requirement
  • Approve PTP/NMOS/IGMP/IP/FEC with the network team
  • Specify four SFP28 optic endpoints
  • Confirm MX slot and VMP/host/card versions

Share your MX host, Source A/B resolutions, primary/backup topology, switch model and fiber distances. We can check the dual-25G ST 2110 path before you order.
