BrightSign LS445 is a digital signage player for single-output 4K signage where image detail matters but the install does not need advanced control ports. Choose the LS445 when the screen or upstream processor should receive a 4K HDMI signal, but the job is still straightforward scheduled signage.
What is BrightSign LS445?
The BrightSign LS445 is an advanced 4K media player featuring a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) for AI-enabled applications. It supports 4K video decoding with H.265 at 60p and H.264 at 30p (8-bit at 60p, 10-bit at 30p), as well as Full HD video decoding at 60p with codecs including H.265/HEVC, H.264/AVC, VP9, MPEG 4 part 2, MPEG1, and MPEG2 video. The player handles multiple 4K and Full HD video containers (.MP4, .MOV, .MKV, .WEBM, .TS, .MPG, .MPEG, .PS, .M2P, .MPV, .AVI, .HEVC, .H264, .AV1, .VP9, and .MJPG) and supports 4K IP streaming. With HTML5 support for simple motion graphics and customizable display resolutions up to 4K, it's perfect for demanding digital signage applications. The LS445 comes with an expanded I/O package, built-in wall mounting, and includes a 5-year warranty.
BrightSign LS445 key features
- 4K HDMI playback for screens or processors that should receive a UHD source instead of an upscaled HD feed
- Dedicated BrightSignOS playback, so the signage endpoint is not dependent on a Windows mini PC or open browser session
- Local microSD playback for scheduled content, with network publishing when playlists need to change
- Light HTML5 support for menu data, clock, weather, QR-code and simple information widgets over 4K layouts
- Essential LS5 hardware for projects that need 4K clarity but not GPIO, serial, USB-A or HDMI input on the player

Can the BrightSign LS445 be used with an LED wall?
Yes, but its role is specific: the BrightSign LS445 is the signage player that supplies the content signal. It stores and plays scheduled media, so a lobby screen, menu board or informational LED display does not need a computer left on-site just to keep content running.
For an LED wall, the BrightSign player’s HDMI output still needs to go into hardware that accepts and processes that signal. The NovaStar control system handles the LED-display work: a video processor or all-in-one controller accepts and scales the HDMI source, sending hardware outputs LED data, and receiving cards map that data to the LED modules. BrightSign handles the playlist, publishing method and playback reliability.
Move to HD1025 or XD1035 when the player must connect directly to buttons, sensors, serial devices or richer interactive HTML experiences.
BrightSign LS5 model comparison
Start with output resolution and I/O. Those two choices usually decide the right BrightSign model faster than a long feature list.
| Model | Playback | Content fit | Choose it when |
|---|---|---|---|
| LS425 | Full HD | Video, images, light HTML and simple scheduled playlists | The display path only needs an HD HDMI source and the budget matters. |
| LS445 | 4K | 4K video, images, light HTML and higher-resolution signage | The display, processor or LED canvas needs a 4K HDMI source. |
