BrightSign LS425 is a digital signage player for simple Full HD signage, menu boards, lobby screens and playback points that do not need 4K. Choose the LS425 when you want a reliable BrightSign player at the lowest LS5 price and the display only needs an HD HDMI source.

What is BrightSign LS425?

The BrightSign LS425 is a powerful Full HD media player featuring a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) for AI-enabled applications. It supports Full HD video decoding at 60p with codecs including H.265/HEVC, H.264/AVC, VP9, MPEG 4 part 2, MPEG1, and MPEG2 video. The player handles multiple video containers (.MP4, .MOV, .MKV, .WEBM, .TS, .MPG, .MPEG, .PS, .M2P, .MPV, .AVI, .HEVC, .H264, .AV1, .VP9, and .MJPG) and supports 4K IP streaming. With HTML5 support for simple motion graphics and customizable display resolutions, it's ideal for digital signage applications. The LS425 comes with a standard I/O package, built-in wall mounting, and includes a 5-year warranty.

BrightSign LS425 key features

  • Full HD video playback from a dedicated signage player, without leaving a laptop or mini PC at the screen
  • microSD-based local playback, so scheduled content can keep running even when the network is down
  • Network publishing and updates for changing playlists after the player is installed
  • HTML5 support for light signage content such as clock, weather, menu, text and data widgets
  • Compact Series 5 hardware for installs where the player needs to sit behind a display or inside a small AV space

BrightSign LS425 specifications

Can the BrightSign LS425 be used with an LED wall?

Yes, but its role is specific: the BrightSign LS425 is the signage player that supplies the content signal. It stores and plays scheduled media, so a lobby screen, menu board or informational LED display does not need a computer left on-site just to keep content running.

For an LED wall, the BrightSign player’s HDMI output still needs to go into hardware that accepts and processes that signal. The NovaStar control system handles the LED-display work: a video processor or all-in-one controller accepts and scales the HDMI source, sending hardware outputs LED data, and receiving cards map that data to the LED modules. BrightSign handles the playlist, publishing method and playback reliability.

Move to the LS445 for 4K output, or to the HD225 if the installation needs GPIO on the player body.

BrightSign LS5 model comparison

Start with output resolution and I/O. Those two choices usually decide the right BrightSign model faster than a long feature list.

BrightSign LS425 FAQ

When should I choose the BrightSign LS425 instead of LS445?

Choose LS425 when the screen is Full HD, the content is mostly scheduled video/images/light HTML, and paying more for 4K output will not improve the final display. It is the practical LS5 choice for simple signage endpoints.

Is LS425 enough for a restaurant menu board or lobby screen?

Yes, if the display is HD or the content is designed for an HD canvas. LS425 is a good fit for menus, welcome loops, price lists and simple information screens that need reliable scheduled playback more than 4K detail.

Does the LS425 need a computer connected to the screen?

No. The point of using a BrightSign player is to avoid leaving a laptop, mini PC or browser session behind the display. Build and publish the content, then let the player handle playback.

What happens to LS425 playback if the network drops?

The current presentation can keep playing from local microSD storage. A network connection matters when you publish new content, monitor players or manage a group of screens; it is not required for every frame of the current playlist.

Can LS425 feed a NovaStar-controlled LED display?

Yes, but only as an HD HDMI playback source into compatible processing hardware. The NovaStar control system still handles scaling, sending and receiving-card mapping for the LED modules.

Is the LS425 covered by BrightSign's 5-year warranty?

New Series 5 players are eligible for BrightSign's registered 5-year hardware warranty program. Register the player according to BrightSign's terms; microSD cards, accessories and other removable items are treated separately.

Do you offer bulk or reseller pricing for LS425 orders?

Yes. LS425 is often bought in multiples for menu boards, retail screens and simple rollouts. Send quantity, shipping destination and whether this is project or reseller stock, and we can quote volume pricing.
